A.N. Wilson: Yes. That's a jolly difficult question, you see. I think we're living in a jolly nice age, as far as Dante translation goes, into English. There's a very good one in Penguin by Mark Musa; there's another good one by Robin Kirkpatrick. I wouldn't recommend going back to the Dorothy Sayers one—it's too peculiar. I think it's useful, even if you don't think that you'll ever want to learn Italian properly, I think it's useful to read a parallel text, so you can look about. Because as you read Dante's lines, for a start you can see how clever he is as a poet and how he interlocks words together in this form that he invented, the terza rima. But also, if you know a bit of French or a bit of Latin, you'll pick up bits. So, have a parallel text and any good, modern English translation on the side.

Hello and thank you.

Like you my first encounter was the book by Cokinos and then Gallagher, followed by books by Hoose and Jackson. (I have met all the authors except Jackson.)

When I began this project, I knew I had to do something different. Capture an era, a time in our history, the early days of conservation. Tanner's adventure in the swamps.

Also, luckily for me, I only live a few miles from Jim Tanner's widow Nancy. Although, sadly, Jim passed away 20 years ago, but Nancy is still active and vital. Her help and support made it all possible.

However the consensus seems to be that hoarders often have other symptoms that would be classed as part of Obsessive compulsive Disorder OCD . It might be suggested that those that dont fit into a comfortable category have a genetic tendency this way or that if the hoarders parents suffered from the same thing they modelled themselves on the parent.
